a man bought all the bras

Okay, maybe that title is unfair. The Rummage Sale was by no means that funny (or fun). I didn't even get to witness said gentleman buying said undergarments. So I can't report on the size or type -- perhaps that is best left to one's imagination, anyway. My guess is that he was doing his Valentine's Day shopping. (But see, I told you someone in this building would offer up their unmentionables!)

We arrived towards the end of the sale, but all accounts seemed that no one was getting rich off their junk. One couple had a red feather boa that was kind of interesting, but looked like it came with this sequin number that was not so much (if you know what I mean). Another woman sat reading a book. On her table she had a bunch of tacky jewelry that she was trying to unload for five bucks each.

Meanwhile another man was demonstrating his exercise bike that was for sale, and that he probably hadn't ridden since two weeks after he took it out of the box -- no one else seemed interested in adding a clothes rack to their unit. On another table they had pictures of all the oversized items. Several refrigerators and a coffee table. Nothing too exciting. The tally sheet was blank, so guess no one else was interested either.

We didn't stay long. No one was buying, and the sellers weren't doing any last minute pitches. The only people having any fun seemed to be a few members of the social committee that were present. It figures.

Tomorrow is the BYOS (bring your own snacks) Super Bowl Party. This is where you get to sit around the big screen TV with your neighbors in the lounge on the second floor. Must admit to being a tad tempted, not having a TV and all. And given that there is no free food, should be pretty low turn out. Can't say I am a football fan. Really only watch so I know what commercials people are talking about the week following.

drats

It wasn't until I was on the elevator tonight that I remembered about the Rules Committee meeting. This was at about 7:10pm. Figured it might be against the rules to show up late. Oh well. Doubt they would have gone for my idea anyway.

Instead, we headed to the wonder that is BayStreet. Scored a free parking space and two movie passes!

this can't be good

Last night while walking back from the Border's across the street, I spied a group of people meeting in the Homeowner's Association office. What was really odd is that the Homeowner's Association office was closed in observance of the MLK holiday, and this was not noted on the updates in the elevator.

Of course, it could be the social committee going over the final details for this Saturday's Rummage Sale. Don't think I will be selling any marble magnets, but will probably pop in for what I suspect will be a few good laughs. Who knows -- maybe will find a bargain or two.

In other news am debating going to the Rules Committee meeting tomorrow night. They are going to discuss a message board. I suspect (and here I am just guessing) that since we no longer have access to the one in the store located in the lobby (as it went under), they want to put something up where residents can post messages. I'd like to suggest setting up an on-line message board, although doubt they would go for it as probably not everyone has access to the Internet.
