flickr was having a massage

It finally happened. I received my first spam comment!! I shouldn't be so excited.

I should also point out that comments don't show up until after I publish the blog again. It has something to do with the fact that Blogger isn't actually hosting this site. So if you don't see your comment, that is why.

Someone pointed out that people like me don't really celebrate the holidays, but rather 'survive' them. It is true, although sad. But I did survive.

We went to B's Uncle's home again. It was far more festive than when we were there for Thanksgiving. The construction is about finished except for the giant pile of debris which needs to be hauled away from their back yard. The tree was up and the big table in the dining room was all decked out. It also helped that there were additional guests.

Still, it was hard. Being around someone else's family is a reminder that you don't really have one. B called a couple of his Aunts who live out of state while we were there (his Uncle wanted to talk to his sisters as well). Even B's sister in NYC called him. It was hard not to think, oh yeah, that's normal, but no one is going to call you today.

At least no one asked me anything about my family. I think though it is why I shied away from starting up a conversation with anyone. And I really wasn't sure what to contribute when the three doctors we had dinner with were discussing radioactive iodine treatments, diabetes, and some surgical procedure which I have blocked out.

But onward I go. The holidays will be over soon. And with a little luck and a lot of work we will figure out where we are supposed to be. I am about ready for this move to be over.
